Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Inhira's website, applications, and estate planning services. Please read these Terms carefully before using our Services.

Last updated: October 2, 2026
Effective: January 1, 2026

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the services provided by Inhira, Inc. ("Inhira," "we," "us," or "our"), including our website at inhira.com, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our Services. Your continued use of the Services following any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

Important: These Terms contain an arbitration agreement and class action waiver that affect your legal rights. Please read Section 14 (Dispute Resolution) carefully.

Inhira is a technology company that provides a self-help software platform for estate planning document preparation. Inhira is not a law firm, does not practice law, and does not provide legal advice, legal opinions, or legal representation. No attorney-client relationship is formed between you and Inhira by your use of the Services. We provide tools and templates — not legal counsel. Complex situations may require the advice of a licensed attorney in your state.

Definitions

The following terms have specific meanings throughout this agreement:

"Services"
All products, features, applications, services, technologies, and software offered by Inhira, including estate planning document generation, online notarization facilitation, and document storage.
""User" or "You""
Any individual or entity that accesses or uses our Services, whether registered or unregistered.
"Account"
A registered user profile created to access and use our Services.
"Content"
All text, graphics, images, documents, information, data, and other materials uploaded, submitted, or otherwise transmitted through the Services.
"Estate Planning Documents"
Legal documents generated through our Services, including but not limited to wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related instruments.

Eligibility

To use our Services, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a legal resident of the United States or its territories
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts
  • Not be prohibited from using the Services under applicable law
  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration

By using our Services, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements. We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or cancel orders at our discretion if we believe you do not meet these requirements.

Our Services

Inhira provides an online platform for creating estate planning documents. Our Services include:

  • Guided questionnaires to collect information for document preparation
  • Generation of customized estate planning documents based on your responses
  • Facilitation of remote online notarization through third-party providers
  • Secure storage and retrieval of your documents
  • Educational resources about estate planning
Not Legal Advice: Inhira provides self-help services at your specific direction. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice, legal representation, or attorney-client relationships. Our documents are based on attorney-reviewed templates, but we recommend consulting with a licensed attorney for complex situations or specific legal questions.

While we strive to ensure our documents comply with applicable state laws, laws vary by jurisdiction and change over time. You are responsible for ensuring that your documents meet your specific needs and comply with the laws of your state.

Artificial Intelligence & Automated Processing

Our Services use artificial intelligence and automated processing technologies to assist in the preparation of estate planning documents. By using our Services, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • AI is used to generate document language, provide educational guidance, analyze your plan for completeness, and offer contextual explanations
  • AI-generated content is based on the information you provide, applicable state law templates, and general estate planning principles
  • AI output may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies — all documents should be reviewed by you before finalization
  • AI does not exercise legal judgment and cannot evaluate the suitability of legal strategies for your unique circumstances
  • We do not use AI to make autonomous legal decisions on your behalf — AI assists, you decide
  • Your data may be processed by third-party AI service providers subject to our data processing agreements and privacy policy
AI Limitations: While our AI systems are designed to produce accurate, state-specific content, they are not infallible. You are responsible for reviewing all documents for accuracy before signing, notarizing, or relying on them. Inhira is not liable for any errors in AI-generated content that you do not correct prior to execution.

Beta & Pre-Release Services

From time to time, we may offer beta, preview, or pre-release features ("Beta Services"). By accessing Beta Services, you agree to the following additional terms:

  • Beta Services are provided "as is" without any warranties of any kind
  • Beta Services may contain bugs, errors, or incomplete features and may not perform as expected
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Beta Services at any time without notice
  • Beta Services may be subject to additional terms, including beta participation agreements
  • Feedback you provide regarding Beta Services may be used by Inhira without restriction or compensation
  • Data entered during beta periods may not be preserved when features are released to general availability
  • Beta Services are confidential — you agree not to disclose details about unreleased features without our written permission

Our liability for Beta Services is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. You acknowledge that Beta Services are experimental and use them at your own risk.

User Accounts

To access certain features of our Services, you must create an account. When creating and maintaining your account, you agree to:

  1. 1Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep it updated
  2. 2Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials
  3. 3Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  4. 4Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach
  5. 5Not share your account credentials with any third party
  6. 6Not create multiple accounts for fraudulent purposes

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we suspect any unauthorized use, violation of these Terms, or fraudulent activity.

Accuracy of Information

The accuracy, completeness, and legal validity of your estate planning documents depend entirely on the information you provide. You represent and warrant that:

  • All information you provide through the Services is true, accurate, current, and complete
  • You will promptly update your information if it changes
  • You understand that inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information may result in documents that are legally invalid, unenforceable, or that do not reflect your actual wishes
  • You have reviewed all generated documents for accuracy before executing them
Inhira is not liable for any consequences arising from inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information you provide. This includes, without limitation, documents that fail to distribute assets as intended, name incorrect beneficiaries or agents, or do not comply with your state's requirements due to incorrect personal details. The responsibility to verify the accuracy of your documents rests solely with you.

Payments & Billing

Pricing and Fees

All prices are displayed in U.S. dollars and are subject to change. Current pricing is available on our website. We reserve the right to modify our pricing at any time, but changes will not affect orders already placed.

Taxes

Prices do not include sales, use or similar taxes. Where we are required to collect tax on a purchase, we calculate it from your address, show it before you pay, and add it to your total. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchases, and you authorize us to charge them to your payment method along with the purchase price. If a purchase is refunded, any tax we collected on it is refunded with it.

Payment Processing

Payments are processed through secure third-party payment processors. By providing payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method and authorize us to charge the applicable fees.

Refund Policy

We offer a 30 day money back guarantee. If you change your mind, we will refund your purchase in full any time within 30 days of purchase, provided you have not yet started notarization.

  • Full refund of the purchase price, requested any time within 30 days of purchase
  • Available until notarization is initiated. Once a notary session has begun, that session has been performed by a third party and the purchase is no longer refundable
  • Generating, reviewing, downloading, or signing your documents does not affect eligibility. Only starting notarization does
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days

To request a refund, contact our support team with your order details. Recurring Care Plan charges are handled under the subscription terms below — cancel any time before renewal and you are not charged again.

Subscription and Renewal

Certain Services may include subscription components for ongoing access and storage. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.

Electronic Signatures & E-SIGN Consent

By using our Services, you consent to conduct transactions electronically in accordance with the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-SIGN Act, 15 U.S.C. § 7001 et seq.) and applicable state laws governing electronic transactions (UETA).

You agree that:

  • Your electronic signature has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature
  • You consent to receive disclosures, notices, and documents electronically
  • You have the hardware and software necessary to access and retain electronic records
  • You may withdraw your consent to electronic signatures at any time by contacting us, though this may limit your ability to use certain Services
  • Electronic records of your transactions and documents will be maintained and made available to you through your account

Note: Certain estate planning documents may require wet-ink signatures, physical witnessing, or in-person notarization depending on your state's laws. Our platform will inform you when physical execution is required.

Notarization Services

Inhira facilitates access to remote online notarization ("RON") through third-party notarization platforms. By using our notarization facilitation Services, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Inhira does not perform notarizations — we connect you with commissioned notaries through third-party platforms
  • The notary public is an independent professional, not an employee or agent of Inhira
  • Notarization sessions are subject to the third-party platform's terms of service and privacy policy in addition to these Terms
  • Remote online notarization is not available in all states — you are responsible for confirming RON is permitted in your jurisdiction
  • You must provide valid, government-issued identification during the notarization session
  • Notarization fees are charged by Inhira and are covered by the 30-day refund policy above — holding a notarization session does not forfeit your right to a full refund
  • Inhira is not liable for any acts, omissions, or errors by the notary public or the third-party notarization platform

Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of our Services—including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, video, software, and the overall design—are owned by Inhira, its licensors, or other content providers and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws.

Inhira® is a registered trademark of Inhira, Inc. You may not use the Inhira name or logo, or any confusingly similar name or mark, without our written permission.

  • Any resale or commercial use of the Services or their contents
  • Any collection and use of product listings, descriptions, or prices
  • Any derivative use of the Services or their contents
  • Any downloading or copying of account information for another party
  • Any use of data mining, robots, or similar data gathering tools

Estate planning documents generated through our Services are your property. We retain no ownership interest in your completed documents, though we maintain a license to store and display them to you as part of our Services.

User Content

You may submit information, documents, and other content through our Services ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you:

  • Represent that you own or have the necessary rights to submit the content
  • Grant us a license to use, store, and process the content to provide our Services
  • Acknowledge that we may access your content to provide customer support
  • Accept responsibility for the accuracy and legality of your content

We do not claim ownership of your User Content. However, we may use anonymized and aggregated data derived from User Content to improve our Services.

We will not send you SMS messages or place phone calls for marketing purposes unless you have provided express written consent in compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA, 47 U.S.C. § 227). You may revoke SMS consent at any time by replying STOP.
